Retreat Center · Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego 49/U12
Tibetan Buddhist center in Warsaw for study, contemplation, and meditation
Karma Dechen Chöling belongs to the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, operating under the spiritual guidance of the masters of that lineage. The center serves as the Polish headquarters for Karmapa Foundation Europe, the Marpa Institute in Poland, and the Warsaw office of Buddhist Mission in Poland. Located at Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego 49/U12 in Warsaw, it functions as a hub for Buddhist practice and study in the city.
The center is focused on creating conditions for studying, contemplation, and meditation for its own tradition as well as other Buddhist traditions. It invites teachers to lead lectures and meditation classes, occasionally preparing publications for courses and organizing special seminars and Buddhist conferences. The meditation hall is made available to other groups, supporting a broader Buddhist community beyond its own membership.
The facility includes a library and reading rooms housing publications from the Marpa Institute and other Buddhist texts. Karma Dechen Chöling offers four double bedrooms available for rent during teaching courses as well as at other times, with shared bathrooms, kitchen access, air-conditioning, and internet. The center maintains specific guidelines for visitors, including restrictions on alcohol, meat, smoking, and loud music after 8 p.m., as well as protocols for the meditation hall and guest areas. The center welcomes all interested in Buddhism to join for meditation and study of Dharma.
