Casale Pundarika — 18, Italy
A rural retreat house in the Tuscan countryside of Riparbella, near Pisa
Casale Pundarika stands at Località Cordarzingoli 18, in the countryside of Riparbella, in the province of Pisa. The house calls itself a centre for retreats and rural hospitality, and its stated purpose is simple: to recharge and reconnect in nature.
Seven independent apartments hold the guests. Each has a equipped kitchenette and a private bathroom and sleeps three or four, so the house can accommodate up to 25 people. Guests have described views over the surrounding hills and a silence that makes leaving difficult. The house welcomes LGBTQ+ guests, families, children and animals.
Four multifunctional spaces carry the practice: a yoga platform set in the woods, a terrace with a wide view, a meditation room and a covered indoor yoga room. Outside there is a heated hydromassage tub, and long walks lead into the woods around the property. On request, the house can arrange forest bathing, wine tasting, massages and treatments, and yoga or meditation sessions.
The calendar shows what the rooms have been used for. Past gatherings include the Pem Pem Retreat, a journey through the body; a retreat on the cakras as symbols, action and energy; a nine-day intensive with Pure Yoga; Taiko Japanese drum retreats in 2021 and 2022; and a forest bathing retreat built on deep ecology and soul nature therapy. A weekend titled Yoga Sūtra in Pratica is also listed. The site keeps an events archive reaching back to 2015, and groups can organise their own closed retreats here.
Giambattista and Federica take enquiries in Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
